Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Planner to join our team. Must have SAP experience. The I&E Planner is responsible for developing and coordinating maintenance plans for electrical and instrumentation systems in industrial and manufacturing environments. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are scheduled efficiently, resources are allocated appropriately, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards is maintained. Key Responsibilities: Planning & Scheduling: Develop, organize, and maintain detailed work plans for instrumentation and electrical (I&E) maintenance and project activities. Schedule routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance for electrical and instrumentation systems. Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to prioritize work orders and optimize resource utilization. Estimate labor, materials, tools, and equipment required for maintenance tasks. Maintain an up-to-date backlog of planned work orders and track progress using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Technical & Maintenance Support: Review and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and other technical documentation. Identify and order necessary spare parts and materials to ensure timely availability. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving instrumentation and electrical issues as needed. Ensure that planned maintenance tasks align with equipment manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, OSHA, NEC, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations. Develop job hazard analyses (JHAs) and work permits as needed for electrical and instrumentation work. Maintain accurate records of maintenance history, inspection reports, and compliance documentation. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime through better planning and preventive maintenance strategies. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize maintenance procedures and implement process improvements. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in instrumentation and electrical maintenance. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and electrical maintenance, planning, or a related role in an industrial setting. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and process flow diagrams. Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, PLCs, control systems, and electrical distribution. Experience with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo) for work order management and tracking. Knowledge of NEC, ISA, IEEE, and other relevant electrical/instrumentation standards. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Physical Requirements: Ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas. Must be able to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs] and stand/walk for extended periods.
