This is an entry-level position, and training is provided by and paid for by MORPC. The Energy Auditor position is responsible for the inspection of weatherization standards for the HWAP and WarmChoice funded programs, and future programs as they become available. This position is also responsible for scheduling, completion, and billing of work orders. This position coordinates and reports to the Lead Field Technician and the Inspection Coordinator to ensure priorities are aligned and will take on special projects as needed to support the overall success of programs. This position will perform Energy Audits as required by program demands. Customer service and customer education are essential duties for this position. Key Responsibilities: Ensure weatherization measures are installed correctly per program standards. Install weatherization measures as outlined by work order instructions and training. Schedule appointments with clients to perform weatherization work. Enter completed work order information into the Columbia Gas of Ohio’s Information Management System (Hancock) and the Neighborly software system. Maintain, upkeep, and secure all tools and equipment daily. Maintain, upkeep, and secure agency-supplied vehicle daily. Order materials as necessary to ensure jobs can be completed as scheduled. Develop familiarity with cultural diversity and apply diversity and inclusion efforts in daily business. Fully support all MORPC personnel policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects that support overall program success. Successfully complete all crew person training. Successfully complete all Energy Auditor training. Perform Energy Audits as assigned. Compile and submit progress reports as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to use a computer. Excellent customer relation skills. Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to carry and use an extension ladder. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; entry into confined spaces is required. Ability to work with insulation. Experience working with power tools and hand tools. Positive working relationship with team members, funders, and the public. Ability to attend meetings both inside and outside the office. Understanding of ideas and concepts involved with the weatherization program. Ability to successfully attend and pass training courses.
Qualifications: This is an entry-level position. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Strong interest in residential construction, HVAC, energy efficiency, or related field. Additional training is provided and paid for by MORPC. Previous certifications and/or experience is preferred when available; however, training will be provided as necessary. Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and maintain liability insurance coverage as required by MORPC. Willingness to use agency or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursed to conduct MORPC business.
