Land Development Engineer
Job Description
Position Overview The Land Development Engineer leads the technical design for an interdisciplinary team of civil engineers, project planners, and CAD designers. This role reports directly to the Director of the Land Development Department. Candidate Profile Ideal candidates are engineers or designers with high technical competency, experienced in land development projects, sustainable design, utility design, and stormwater management. Experience with design and permitting for development projects, including schools, institutional, and commercial/retail projects, is preferred. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree (Required) Experience: Civil engineering – 5 years (Required) Language: English (Required) Minimum of 3 years of design experience on land development projects K-12 site design experience is a plus Proficiency with Civil 3D and Office 360 products (Excel, Word, etc.) Typical Duties Lead a team in preparing project drawings, calculations, and specifications Prepare engineering analyses, designs, calculations, and reports Evaluate land use and zoning requirements; familiar with zoning ordinances and site plan approval processes Prepare permit applications and manage agency review processes to obtain approvals Conduct site visits during construction to assess progress and quality Collaborate with owners, architects, landscape architects, trades, and contractors Mentor and train junior staff Work Environment & Physical Demands Willingness to:
