The Electrician provides essential support to electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components for boiler and heater industrial/commercial equipment. This role involves assisting with tasks that may range from basic wiring to more complex troubleshooting and equipment handling. The Electrician plays a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and up to industry standards. The Electrician is responsible to provide all support and services in a manner that is aligned with our Operating Philosophy and Values. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing/plant equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and calibration for the plant equipment. Knowledge of computers, HIM, Drives, generators and other electronics. Analyze equipment, circuitry, diagnose troubles, repair, adjust, modify, service all types of electronic devices and systems. Able to install, test repair, and replace motors, drives, controls, starters, lights and power. Follow industry best practice of safety procedures, including Arc Flash Protection, and Lock Out Tag Out. Demonstrate the initiative to investigate and offer improvements to plant operations. Safely operate maintenance vehicles and mobile equipment such as fork trucks, boom lifts, scissor lift, etc. Safely use basic hand and power tools such as a drill press, power saw, grinder, etc. Understanding the concepts of belts, belt drives, chain drives, and gear boxes. Read and interpret engineering drawing relative to the job assigned. Install electrical systems and equipment according to NEC provisions and best practices. Work safely and follow all established plant safety policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including tasks completed, materials used, and hours worked. Perform miscellaneous duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience): Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College referred or electrical apprenticeship. Valid Drivers License. Completion of a trade school or training is a plus. NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Technician (NFPA 70E). Experience troubleshooting electrical voltages ranging from 24V to 480V – 3 Phase. Experience troubleshooting AC/DC drives and machinery controls. Experience installing conduit and pulling wire to code. Knowledge of control circuitry and programming. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot control circuits of complex systems. Knowledge of current safety policies and machine directives such as NFPA, ASME, OSHA Regulations, and Industrial Processes. Familiar with standard communication protocols concepts, practices, and procedures such as Ethernet IP, Ethercat and Powerlink). Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, diagrams and equipment specifications is required. Must have a good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic systems and associated components. Effective written, analytical problem solving, organization, planning, oral communication skills. Work independently and as a member of a team with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform Mechanical and Electrical preventative maintenance tasks on equipment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Bending/Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Full motion of the body, lower extremities, and back muscles. Heavy Work - Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently. Frequent standing and walking. Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects. Requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles. Kneeling - Bending legs at knees to come to a rest on one or both knees. Noise - The worker is subject to noise on a regular basis and shouting may be required to be heard above noise level and hearing protection. Repetitive Motion - Substantial movement/motion of the wrists, hands and or fingers. Vision – Visual acuity is required to operate mechanical or skilled trades.
