Respiratory Therapist- COPD/Asthma Educator Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a Respiratory Therapist- COPD/Asthma Educator for our Respiratory Services Team in Columbus, OH. The Respiratory Services Asthma specialist responsibilities will include assessing, managing, educating, and advocating therapy for patients. Responsibilities include working with patient families on treatment plans and testing as needed. This position works closely with care team to execute appropriate treatment plan and follow up items to ensure high quality of patient care. Travel to our offices in Columbus area will be required. This is a full-time position working 8a-5p Monday-Friday. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the assessment, management/education, facilitation and advocacy for options and services for COPD and asthma patients. Address appropriate therapeutic methods for various lung diseases following established guidelines. Evaluate patient and determine appropriate treatment plan. Provide verbal and written asthma education to patient and family members. Perform Pulmonary Functions Testing. Discuss/review the results with the physician, and together establish a medication treatment plan. Instruct patient/family on proper use and care of medical devise deemed appropriate for the patient. Develop and instruct use/documentation of asthma/COPD action plan and diary/journal. Perform timely and accurate documentation. Teach and counsel patients/families. Set and discuss management goals with the patient/family.

Required: Licensed in the state of Ohio and hold RRT credential Required: Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy Required: 2+ years of experience working with all types of chronic lung disease Preferred: Previous experience with COPD and asthma patients, adult and/or pediatric
