What You Will Do Join Our Team! The Engineering Technology & Design (E-DO) Division is searching for an entry-level Science/ Engineering Program Manager. You will work within the E Division office teaming with other program managers in E Division as well as across the directorate to support projects and programs across E, W and Q Divisions in support of ALDW missions. You will participate and, in some cases, lead phases of the project life cycle. This includes working with the relevant organizations to ensure experiments have appropriate funding, resources, and priority to define, fabricate, assemble, instrument, and execute experiments. You will also work with division management and Weapons Facilities Operations (WFO) to ensure all ongoing facility upgrades and maintenance is executed according to schedule. You will also be responsible for updating the investments and capabilities documentation as well as working with group management and the division office to identify what projects to fund. What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Program Management Entry-Level knowledge of and experience in program management of technical or operational work, including defining program work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk. Project Control & Scheduling Demonstrated ability to manage cost and schedule commitments for projects or programs. Entry-Level knowledge and demonstrated ability in applying project controls principles, including cost and performance reporting, variance analysis and use of cost and schedule tools. Communication Demonstrated record of successfully supporting cross-organization teams to ensure complex technologies or products are delivered within budget and on schedule. Experience in interacting effectively with all levels of internal personnel; building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science or Engineering field from an accredited institution and 2 years of directly related technical and project management experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and technical experience directly related to the occupation. Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in working/coordinating facility and operations projects. Entry-Level knowledge of nuclear weapons and NNSA facilities that support the U.S. stockpile. Work experience in nuclear or high explosive facilities. Experience working with the Weapons Engineering and Weapons Physics organizations at LANL. Formal training/experience in Earned Value Management, P6 Primavera Scheduling and Baseline Change Requests (and associated software). Working knowledge of the ALDW Integrated Schedule Process for tracking and prioritizing work in ALDW. Project Management Professional (PMP).
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management. Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
