Trinity Industries, Inc. is hiring a Senior Control/Process Operator at our Saginaw plant. Our products are an integral part of the supply chain that helps fuel our lives and our economy. The Senior Control/Process Operator position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who does not shy away from a challenge. Responsibilities: Sets up and operates computer numerical controlled (CNC) machinery that automatically heats, mills, cuts, forms, drills, broaches or reams metal, plastic or processed material parts. Makes adjustments to adhere to established specifications. Troubleshoots and corrects faulty programming. Makes general decisions as to quality, tolerances, and operation sequence. May transfer materials to storage areas using overhead cranes or forklift. Follows all safety rules and practices. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains and troubleshoots routine maintenance, such as cleaning nozzles, inspecting torch parts and replacing consumables. Understands and performs basic torch cutting. Understands and performs basic measuring techniques. Proficiently reads blueprints. Proficiently operates one piece of CNC/PLC equipment (Stress oven, Whitney-plasma/punch; Oxy-fuel cutting; plasma cutting; Laser cutting machine; CNC machining center/drills and machines, etc.) Understanding of material properties, including thickness, hardness and grade to ensure cutting performance and quality for various metals. Able to calibrate a plasma cutter, set up the workpiece and configure settings like cutting speed and height for precise operations. Needs to be skilled in using CNC programming software, including creating, modifying, and troubleshooting CNC code to ensure accurate cuts.
