FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Starting range: $17.33 - $18.75 per hour (Full Time and Part Time available)

Announcing our new program ACT Brave! BestSelf's ACT Brave program is designed to address the significant needs of youth ages 10 up to 21, who are at risk of entering or returning home from high intensity services. Youth ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) serves as a critical component in the children's continuum of care, ensuring the child and their family have the necessary support services and access to clinical professionals. Youth ACT teams deliver intensive, highly coordinated, individualized services through an integrated, multi-disciplinary team approach to maintain the child in the home, school, and community.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Family Peer Advocacy Services are provided to families raising a child or young adult up to age 21 who is experiencing social, emotional, addiction, or behavioral health challenges. Family Peer support services are delivered by a trained Family Peer Advocate (FPA) who supports the parent/caregiver to enhance their skills and promote positive youth functioning.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides outreach, information, engagement, and transition support Provides individual and family advocacy on site, at satellite sites, in the field, or in the home Refers children/families to ancillary services Runs family education and support groups Meets agency Key Performance Indicators Represents the program at collaborative interagency meetings Promotes a culture of wellness and serves as a positive role model Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings Maintains and disseminates information on community resources Maintains accurate records following regulations Ensures client confidentiality according to agency and HIPAA policies Attends required trainings for certification Completes all trainings required by the agency Performs all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Degree or equivalency Must have or be working towards family peer certification through Families Together NY (FTNY) Demonstrated lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver navigating child-serving systems Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Experience with basic office technology including Microsoft Word, Outlook, & Teams Excellent written and communication skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Valid NYS Driver's License Must complete NYS Defensive Driving course within 15 days of hire Must maintain valid vehicle inspection, registration, and insurance if using personal vehicle #J-18808-Ljbffr
