Job Description

Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of all instruments, distributive control systems, electrical equipment, PLCs, and/or process analyzers. Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical and instrumentation and control systems and equipment such as major plant power distribution system controllers, wiring, switches, control valves, analyzers (process and environmental), and alarm systems used in both PLC & DCS control environments for the monitoring, control, & safeguarding of process system flows and operating variables in accordance with applicable codes and safety regulations. Performs a variety of complex technical duties, including locating and diagnosing complex equipment failures. Able to read, interpret, & modify Ladder Logic and Cause & Effect Diagrams to maintain system operation within design requirements. Also assists in design and development of new equipment or systems for new or improved processes. May also perform repair, replacement, adjustment, and preventive maintenance on plant operating & control equipment.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED Some college courses in IT, Business, Finance, or related field preferred Electrical Journeyman State Licensed preferred 3-5 years experience in Instrumentation & Electrical industry preferred Must possess a valid state Driver’s License Must be fluent in English (read, write, speak) and able to read and write at a minimum of high school level and communicate effectively Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions and directions Ability to read, interpret and follow U.S. Coast Guard manuals and other regulatory documents as they relate to work being performed Ability to read and understand safety procedures, including Federal OSHA and state OSHA guidelines Must have math skills equal to or in excess of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and long division and be able to work with fractions and perform various conversions per common practice in the petroleum/chemical industry Able to work shift work on a rotating schedule (i.e. days 0600 – 1800 and nights 1800 – 0600), if required.
