Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Community Habilitation Specialist - Chautauqua County Job Category: Community & Day Services Requisition Number: DIREC001330 Posted: November 26, 2024 Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem positions available, located in Chautauqua County - Jamestown area. Rate of Pay: $17.00 - $18.70 (depending on experience) Location Fredonia, NY 14063, USA 183 E Main St Suite 106 SUMMARY OF DUTIES As a Community Habilitation Specialist, you will work directly with individuals with developmental/learning disabilities, providing services to help them live independently and thrive in their communities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Community integration Community travel and transportation Money management and budgeting Appropriate socialization/interactions Medical appointments and understanding doctor’s orders Additional skills needed to enable individuals to access the community and remain as independent as possible Other instruction, services, and supports as indicated by your supervisor. SKILLS & ABILITIES Good time management skills Ability and desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary team Ability to work 1-1 with individuals receiving services Moderate level of written and oral communication skills High level of interpersonal skills Knowledge of behavioral techniques and developmental disabilities Knowledge of computers and ability to utilize various software programs Successful completion of First Aid, CPR, and Defensive Driving upon hire is required.
