DinoMites Summer Camp Supervisor
Job Description
Salary Range: $18.80-$20.73 per hour, depending upon qualifications. Benefits: Sick time is available under Healthy Families Workplaces Act (1 hour for every 30 hours worked). Supervisor: Miranda Carrithers FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY: The City of Fruita is currently accepting applications for a Summer Camp Supervisor to oversee our DinoMites Camp at the Fruita Community Center. Responsibilities include: Engaging children in interactive activities including organized arts & crafts, sports activities, games, and field trips. Ensuring Counselors are engaged, interacting with campers at all times, and building a positive relationship with campers. Maintaining summer camp inventory and ordering supplies with the permission of the Camp Director. Creating and coordinating daily activity schedules and field trips according to state/federal guidelines. Providing assistance and recommendations for hiring, termination, training, and performance feedback of staff to the Camp Director. Understanding and enforcing emergency procedures, rules, regulations, and safety guidelines associated with DinoMites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. At least 18 years of age. 1 year of experience working with elementary-aged children. Applicants must be CPR/First Aid certified or be able to become certified (will be paid by the City of Fruita if not currently certified). Summer Camp Supervisor experience is preferred. Candidates must complete 15 hours of required training before camp starts and have the ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation.
