Construction Materials Engineer Requisition Number: 2024-1170-07 Join our dedicated team in Columbus, OH as a Construction Materials Engineer specializing in construction materials testing with some geotechnical engineering experience. We're looking for a skilled professional with a proven track record of leading projects and field staff, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance at all levels eager to build and foster relationships with clients. As a Construction Materials Engineer, you'll manage a range of medium to large construction and geotechnical projects, ensuring that every aspect—from field testing to detailed reporting—meets the highest industry standards. You'll collaborate closely with clients, technical teams, and senior leaders to deliver on our commitment to quality and project success.
Your Day-to-Day:
Lead and manage medium to large geotechnical and construction materials testing projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards from initial testing through to final reporting. Collaborate closely with clients to understand and address their project needs, exceeding expectations for quality and satisfaction. Oversee and mentor field teams, fostering a safe, growth-oriented work environment and enhancing technical capabilities. Coordinate with technical teams, leadership, and laboratory staff to deliver seamless project execution and successful outcomes. Support business development initiatives by building client relationships, expanding your professional network, and contributing to revenue growth.
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing, Geotechnical projects, and/or Special Inspections. Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months. Strong familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT standards, and IBC Special Inspections. Physical ability to work in field settings, handle equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
