Job Description
Under general supervision, provides daily work direction to work crews engaged in the construction, repair, and maintenance of County roads, bridges, and right of way. This designation is distinguished from the District Road Supervisor by the absence of full supervisory authority and less administrative responsibility. Functions as a leader of one or two working crew(s) (crew is 3-6 employees) within the assigned area or job location and personally executes work directives. Representative Duties: Plans, leads, and evaluates the work of field crews. Confers with the District Road Supervisor on a regular basis to discuss current and upcoming projects. Participates in the planning of various construction and maintenance projects. Operates light to heavy motorized equipment and vehicles requiring skills and precision such as motor graders, cranes, backhoes, loaders, asphalt zippers, and scrapers. Subject to emergency call-out or standby. Performs manual labor as needed. Performs related work as required. Qualifications Job Requirements:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or successful completion of a G.E.D. Four years of experience in road and/or bridge maintenance, construction, and repair. Possession of a valid State of Nevada Class A Commercial Driver's License with all endorsements & Flagger certification. Special Requirements Nye County requires a pre-employment drug screen through a designated facility; employment is contingent upon successful completion of this process.
