JOB SUMMARY:
The Inventory Analyst will provide direction for the purchase of finished goods and purchase finished goods in accordance with the company’s mission and philosophy.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purchase and coordinate deliveries of finished goods after reviewing and analyzing information from merchandising, marketing, and forecasting. Manage current and planned finished goods inventory levels to meet company inventory objectives. Assess the impact of variances to the finished goods inventory plan and forecasts to identify surplus/deficient stock situations. Expedite, delay, cancel or reorder inventory as necessary. Meet objectives related to fill rates and turns as well as other metrics as prioritized by the company. Inform the appropriate people of response or delivery variances that render planned sales unserviceable or provide additional sales opportunities. Identify and implement process improvement opportunities that will yield improved fill rates and reduced inventory investment. Effectively communicate with the vendors the expectations for on time and complete shipments. Provide timely feedback to the Purchasing Manager and Merchandiser on needed vendor improvements as it pertains to on-time deliveries and fill rates. Work with receiving and accounting to reconcile purchase order, invoice and receiving discrepancies in a timely manner. Review and enter appropriate relationships for new and established product to ensure product demand is calculated and forecasted correctly for replenishment. Manage and maintain the item status within the appropriate systems.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the IS department on development, testing and implementation of new or enhanced systems or processes. Participate in or complete special projects as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail. Ability to think critically. Strong business acumen.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Purchasing/Materials Management or the equivalent in experience. 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in sourcing, purchasing and/or inventory control.
