You will perform exams and procedures, counsel patients, and treat patients throughout their lifetime. Education Possess a degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy. Complete an accredited program of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Pass a national exam. Must be licensed to practice in Georgia. Must successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check. Salary $224,000.00 – $300,000.00 Hours of Operation Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Location Columbus, Ga; Fortson, Ga; Talbotton, Ga Benefits We pay 100% of our employees’ benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision coverage. This is worth $14,000 a year, which includes $3,000 towards your deductible that you receive on a Health Spending Visa for any co-pays, prescriptions and medical expenses that may occur. Summary Obstetricians and Gynecologists are specialized doctors who diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases of women, especially those affecting the reproductive system and the process of childbirth. They are responsible for general medical care for women, but also provide care related to pregnancy and the reproductive system. Like general practitioners, OB – GYNs are concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of general health problems, but they focus on ailments specific to the female anatomy, such as breast and cervical cancer, urinary tract and pelvic disorders, and hormonal disorders. Obstetricians and Gynecologists also specialize in childbirth, treating and counseling women throughout their pregnancy, from giving prenatal diagnoses to delivery and postpartum care. Obstetricians and Gynecologists track the health of, and treat, both mother and fetus as the pregnancy progresses. Duties and Responsibilities Review patient’s medical history Update charts and patient information to show current findings and treatments Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results. Obstetricians and Gynecologists care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods. Obstetricians and Gynecologists prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury. Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient. Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients. Monitor patients’ conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary. Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. Obstetricians and Gynecologists refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary. Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff. Obstetricians and Gynecologists consult with or provide consulting services to other physicians. Recommend and design a plan of treatment Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being Evaluation The evaluation of work performance, including specific duties, responsibilities, demeanor, and work ethic, will be ongoing and implemented by the Chief Medical Officer per center policies. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Possess a degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy. Complete an accredited program of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Pass a national exam. Must be licensed to practice in Georgia. Must successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check. Compliance Adhere to company policies and procedures and all Federal, State and Local medical service requirements, to include HIPAA Privacy & Security. Confidentiality (HIPAA) Every employee is required to sign a Pledge of Confidentiality. Failure to comply with our Pledge of Confidentiality can or will lead to immediate termination of employment. The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic general Obstetrician-gynecologist to join the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking an outstanding obstetrician-gynecologist for a full-time position within the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This is an exciting opportunity to expand the Department’s services. Ideal candidates are board-certified or eligible physicians who are interested in resident education and direct patient care in an academic center. Members of the division supervise resident continuity clinics, gynecologic teaching services, and provide in-hospital gynecologic consultation. Additionally, they have an active role in medical student education. The division has an active faculty practice at 5 outpatient sites and one labor and delivery facility. Providers include 26 obstetrician-gynecologists, 4 gynecologists, and 16 nurse-midwives. Faculty expertise includes minimally invasive surgery, family planning, vulvar disease, menopause, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and breastfeeding. The Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University is a state-of-the-art tertiary care center with the planned opening of a new hospital facility in 2025. The Ohio State University College of Medicine graduates approximately 200 medical students per year. The obstetrics and gynecology residency program is integrated with the Mount Carmel Medical System and trains 11 residents per year. The metropolitan area is a growing community that houses the State Capital.
