This position officially reports through our Denver office but will be a remote position with primary focus on Colorado’s Western Slope Region such as (but not limited to) Grand Junction, Delta, Montrose, Fruita, and Mesa County. Preference will be given to candidates with current residency or A/E/C project experience within the Western Slope region. Your options as a civil engineer are endless at SEH. You’ll engineer better communities -- complete streets, safer sidewalks, more sustainable utilities, and trails and parks. Others specialize in large-scale projects, like flood control facilities, dams, landfills, harbors/marinas, structural retaining walls and larger geotechnical projects. Regardless of the project, you’ll have your hands in the mix through all phases of a project: planning, pre-design, design, contract documentation, bidding and construction. This Opportunity: SEH, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join our team, focusing on projects in the picturesque and unique environments of Colorado’s Western Slope Region such as (but not limited to) Grand Junction, Delta, Montrose, Fruita, and Mesa County. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing various types of infrastructure projects and be adept at building strong professional relationships with local government officials. This role requires a thorough understanding of the unique dynamics and challenges faced by Colorado’s Western Slope communities, ensuring that our engineering solutions meet their unique needs. Key Responsibilities:
100% business development activities to start as you build a client portfolio, transitioning to a balanced role between business development and project management as your client base expands. Cultivate strong relationships by understanding the unique community challenges of Colorado's Western Slope towns and effectively leveraging SEH solutions to secure new projects. Oversee infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality deliverables, adherence to timelines, and compliance with budgets and regulations. Develop and strengthen relationships with local government officials, stakeholders, and community members in mountain towns like Grand Junction, Delta, Montrose, Fruita, and Mesa County (just to name a few). Collaborate with engineers, architects, and planners to devise innovative infrastructure solutions suited for Colorado’s western slope environments. Facilitate communication between SEH and local government agencies to maintain transparency and alignment throughout project lifecycles. Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and updates to local government bodies and stakeholders. Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure regulatory compliance. Stay updated on regulations affecting infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance in all planning and execution phases. Coordinate with the Business Development team and technical staff to foster new clients and projects while promoting professional development within the team.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Colorado. At least 5 years of project management experience in the infrastructure sector, with a focus on local government projects and a proven ability to manage projects successfully in Western Slope terrains. Strong understanding of the political, funding, and operational structures of local governments in Colorado’s Western Slope towns. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish trust with diverse stakeholders, along with experience in preparing and managing proposals, budgets, schedules, and contracts. Recent A/E/C project experience in Colorado’s Western Slope region, leveraging existing contacts for business development, and a strong desire to meet in-person with new clients to build rapport and secure new projects for SEH.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 15 years of experience in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field. Current resident of Colorado’s Western Slope Region such as (but not limited to) Grand Junction, Delta, Montrose, Fruita, and Mesa County (just to name a few). Preference for candidates with recent or current employment in a related local government position (county/city engineer, Public Works Director, etc.) within a Colorado Western Slope community. #J-18808-Ljbffr
