LOGIX Aircraft Air Conditioning Unit (ACU-802) Technician (Engineer Field 1) - 22135 Location: Crane, IN, Indiana, United States Requisition Number: 22135 Required Travel: 11 - 25% Employment Type: Full Time/Salaried/Exempt Anticipated Salary Range: $43,888.00 - $75,000.00 Security Clearance: Ability to Obtain Level of Experience: Entry Level This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO) , a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. HII designs, develops, integrates, and manages the sensors, systems, and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. HII-Mission Technologies is seeking an Aircraft Air Conditioning Unit (ACU-802) Technician to be part of our Maintenance Team! This role will support the Logistics, ISR, and Next-Gen Technology (LOGIX) Task Order (TO). The Technician will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining ACU-802 aircraft air conditioning units ensuring optimal performance and compliance with all USN safety and regulatory standards.
What you will do
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on ACU-802 aircraft air conditioning units to include the diesel power unit. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to cooling, heating, and ventilation systems in the ACU-802 unit. Conduct inspection and tests to ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards. Replace faulty components such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, and filters. Document all maintenance and repair work in line with US Navy policy. Work closely with other maintenance personnel and engineering teams to identify potential problems. Additional duties as assigned or required.
What we are looking for
2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 0 years experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. Certification in HVAC or EPA Section 608 Certification for refrigeration handling. Knowledge of electrical, control systems, and mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift and handle over 40 lbs. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. 2+ years experience in HVAC or aircraft environmental control systems. 2+ years as a Diesel Technician. Technical Certification or Associate's Degree in HVAC or Diesel fields. Experience repairing and maintaining the ACU-802 system within US Navy guidelines. Clearance: Possess and maintain a Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements
May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
