Job Description
This position represents entry level in line fire suppression and fire prevention. This position performs emergency medical skills and procedures and the use of medical equipment. This position responds to emergency incidents and performs a variety of tasks, to include, but not limited to: extricating and rescuing individuals from entrapment situations, treating the sick and injured, operation and maintenance of fire rescue equipment, apparatus, and quarters. Performs the duties and fulfills the responsibilities of a State of Nevada Certified Emergency Medical Technician- Advanced, in accordance with the provisions of Nevada Administrative Code Chapter 450B and standing orders and written protocols as set forth by the Medical Director for the Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Service. Must continually maintain all levels of certification as required by the State, Fire Chief, and Medical Director. Applicant must be able to work 24 hours shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED, and valid CPAT within 6 months of applying; valid IFSAC or Nevada FF1, NREMT- Advanced. Special Requirements Town of Pahrump requires a pre-employment drug screen through a designated facility; employment is contingent upon successful completion of this process.
