Job Title: Dispatcher EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Receives incoming calls in a regional dispatcher center for the towns of Belchertown, Hampden, and Wilbraham, including E911. Dispatches police, fire, ambulance, animal control, and public works emergency responders. Operates LEAP/NCIC computer and keeps logs. Provides pre-arrival instructions to callers including Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). MIN. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be certified in E-911 and LEAPS, and pre-arrival instructions. Must be or become trained and certified in PowerPhone 911 call handling protocols within 90 days from the date of hire. Emergency dispatch experience preferred. Courtesy and tact in dealing with others, ability to multitask, and excellent oral communication skills are essential.
