POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports directedly to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Superintendent and is responsible for assisting in all aspects of wastewater plant and collection systems maintenance and operations. Duties include, but are not limited to, wastewater plant monitoring, equipment maintenance; sample collection and lab testing; lift station inspections and repair; collection systems maintenance; vacuum truck operations; sewer inspections; record keeping; sewer line locations and markings; and other related tasks. This position requires a willingness and ability to work in adverse weather conditions as needed. The successful applicant must have effective communication skills for interacting with the public and colleagues and must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to plan and carry out tasks independently.
Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications for this position include: a high school diploma or acceptable equivalency diploma; and
Other Qualifications: Applicants with these additional qualifications will be preferred: experience in wastewater, underground utilities, general construction, grounds/building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, heavy equipment operations, or other related field; wastewater certifications.
COMPENSATION based on qualifications.
WORK SCHEDULE. Regular 40-hour work schedule, weekdays from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a half-hour lunch. Shifts may also include weekends to maintain wastewater plant coverage and will require occasional, off-hour emergency call-ins when needed. APPLICATION PROCESS.
