Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician - Part-time We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician to join our dedicated healthcare team. This role focuses on providing essential dialysis treatment under the guidance of healthcare professionals and supporting patients through their treatment journey. The ideal candidate will assist with clinical tasks, patient mobility, and emotional support to ensure a high quality of care and patient satisfaction in a dynamic and supportive environment. Salary: DOE per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse to ensure optimal patient care during hemodialysis. Meticulously collect and maintain accurate patient records and information to track patient progress. Administer medications and assist with treatments as directed by healthcare professionals, adhering to all safety protocols. Support patient mobility, including safe transferring and positioning of patients to prevent injuries. Ensure a sterile and safe environment by strictly adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining cleanliness standards. Provide emotional and social support to patients and family members, offering comfort and reassurance throughout the treatment process. Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to coordinate and enhance patient care, improving efficiency and patient outcomes.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis or holds a relevant state license or registration. Valid driver’s license and insurance if required to travel for company business. Compliance with CMS requirement at 494.140(e)(4) for dialysis patient care technicians, including certification within 18 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher in a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in dialysis care. Experience reprocessing medical equipment and familiarity with equipment maintenance and repair. Advanced computer skills for maintaining digital records and handling digital communication effectively.
