PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-007, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30TH, 2025. This position is located at Valley of Fire State Park, approximately 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas, near Overton, NV. Valley of Fire is an internationally known, high-visitation park, averaging more than 900,000 visitors per year. This position will be the on-site manager of Valley of Fire State Park's day-to-day gift shop operations and will serve as the direct supervisor of staff. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for scheduling and training all staff. Primary duties include: Operating and utilizing the Point of Sale (POS) system to process sales. Managing physical inventory and analyzing sales data. Receiving merchandise and balancing received orders to packing slips. Monitoring market trends to ensure the merchandise is stocked. Working directly with vendors to place orders of products and to create new site-specific products. Ensuring deposits are completed. Performing physical inventory and reviewing inventory reports to establish the appropriate price mark-up on merchandise. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the gift shop and stockroom. Creating attractive and shopper-friendly product displays. To Qualify: In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements: Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications): Graduation from high school and two years of storekeeping or retail experience, one year of which included performing physical inventories, maintaining records and ordering merchandise; OR one year of experience as a Retail Storekeeper I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Additional Position Criteria: This position requires a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
