Job Id: 338 # of Openings: 1 Classroom Teacher: Head Start - UPK Head Start is seeking a creative, organized individual to join our teaching team in meeting the physical, cognitive, and social/emotional needs of toddlers enrolled in the Head Start center-based program. As a classroom teacher you will: Develop, coordinate, and implement daily lesson plans, classroom activities, and outreach events Guide children as they learn new skills including feeding, toileting, and self-care Foster a welcoming and safe learning environment that promotes safe exploration for children and encourages parents to be active participants in their child’s education Assist in supervision of classroom teaching staff, volunteers, and support management in ensuring compliance with day care licensing and Head Start Performance Standards. This position has school breaks and summers off.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or a related field; one year of experience in an early childhood program; Teacher certification (for UPK program teachers only); valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
