The Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) Technician plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to the site in the areas of safety, health, and environmental management. The primary objective of this position is to deliver regular assistance to site operations at points of execution, specifically on the shop floor. In this role, the SH&E Technician will actively promote and contribute to a site culture that integrates safety, health, and environmental considerations as core values among all employees. The technician will assist in the implementation of the SH&E program, ensuring that it is effectively followed on a daily basis. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for training other employees in key SH&E areas as needed. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of expected SH&E practices and behaviors. Implement and participate in company SH&E policies, processes and procedures including but not limited to: Job Hazard Evaluations, Internal Inspections and Audits, Incident Investigations Confined Space Entry, Electrical Safety, Hot Work Machine Safeguarding, Control of Hazardous Energy (LO/TO/TO) Personal Protective Equipment Emergency procedures and equipment Take an active role in site waste management audits and practices ISO/OHSAS Requirements Chemical inventory and management Troubleshoot at risk conditions using NCE problem solving tools such as 5 Why, GSTD tools. Take an active role to ensure that human safety is never compromised. Provide key support to all SH&E systems as directed. Demonstrate knowledge of environmental best practices. Support site ISO 14001/18001 certification, document control process, and record maintenance. Troubleshoot various environmental conditions and take appropriate levels of corrective action. Provide key support with all Environmental Management System policies and procedures including but not all inclusive: SPCC Spill Prevention Control Countermeasures Spill response and clean up support Provide SH&E expertise at local committee operating reviews. Assist in root cause investigations of SH&E related incidents. Provide routine training and coaching to site personnel. Complete all required documentation to support OSHA and EPA compliance and injury prevention activities Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL: High School Diploma Required EXPERIENCE: 5 + years experience in manufacturing. General knowledge of plant operations including Maintenance, EPSU, Warehouse, Refrigeration, and Production. Must have solid track record for SH&E, having served as a SH&E representative or committee member is considered helpful. First Aid/CPR/AED or higher certification will be required. SKILLS:
