The primary purpose of this position is to provide business, logistical and technical support to the Fermentation, Cell Culture, and Molecular Biology group in the Early Bioprocess Development Department in Vaccines Research and Development. This entails coordinating all maintenance activities and purchase of scientific supplies for Early Bioprocess Development Department. Additionally, the incumbent will prepare solutions and cell culture supplies and prepare bioreactors for use. How You Will Achieve It
Coordinates all maintenance activities with GO and external vendors Serves as the department representative on the Laboratory Equipment and Oversight Committee Interfaces with Thermo-Fisher for maintenance of stock room inventory Orders and maintains inventory of all supplies and reagents not covered by Thermo-Fisher stock room Acts as department’s lead Safety Representative Makes stock solutions needed by scientific staff Assembles process aids, such as transfers, bottles and syringes Assures readiness of bioreactors for experiments pre-sterilization Executes clean-in-place procedures for steam-in-place equipment Collects and secures biohazard waste from the labs and pilot areas Calibrates and maintains scientific instruments Takes direction from management on required support activities and schedules own work Attends internal and external meetings that relate to maintenance activities
Here Is What You Need
Associate Degree with 0-2 years of experience or equivalent Proficiency with personal computers including familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook functions Good communication and reading skills – works well from written and verbal instruction Some heavy lifting (approximately 50 pounds or less) of supplies and equipment is required.

Course work in chemistry is highly desirable to aid understanding of chemical formulae in formulation instructions Course work in biology or biotechnology is highly desirable for supporting work with bioreactors The salary for this position ranges from $25.52 to $42.53 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
