What You Will Do In Your Role
The successful candidate will provide leadership, support and direction to the Supply Chain Supervisor. Perform advanced fleet maintenance on tractors and trailers, including diagnostics/troubleshooting, engine repairs, preventative maintenance (PM), etc. Manage and maintain inventory (fuel, oil, parts, etc.). Manage and maintain Purchase Orders. Demonstrate initiative, problem solving skills and attention to detail in all assigned tasks. Assist in plant maintenance if needed. Occasionally work at heights and in confined spaces. Follow facial hair guidelines for respirator usage (clean shaven). Act as a backup for a driver's role if needed. Adhere to all rules and regulations of both Bakelite and DOT to safely operate company cargo tank vehicles. Maintain a clean driving record while providing exceptional customer focus to both internal and external customers. Understand DOT regulations for CDL drivers. Work variable start times, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Requirements
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working on heavy duty trucks/diesel engines. Obtain a current Class A Commercial Driver's License and valid DOT Medical Card. No more than one (1) chargeable or preventable motor vehicle accident within the year preceding the date of application. No more than one (1) violation of motor vehicle laws (other than violations involving parking only) within the year preceding the date of application. Education: High School diploma or GED.
What Will Put You Ahead
Special Skills/Other Current ASE Certification(s) Six (6) months or more experience driving a Cargo Tank. Six (6) months or more experience in a Chemical Manufacturing facility. Six (6) months or more of leadership/supervisory experience. DOT certifications: Tanker Endorsement, HazMat Endorsement (must possess or be obtained after hire). Minimum of 2 years of experience driving Class A CDL vehicles.
