We develop, construct, and operate RNG, landfill-gas-to-electric, and dairy digester facilities, operating around 50 sites across 32 states with a strong development pipeline. About the role The Shop Technician/Machinist is responsible for learning all aspects of equipment and engine repair, tune-up, overhaul, and rebuild processes for reciprocating engines and auxiliary equipment used in a landfill gas-powered plant. Key accountabilities Ensure safety and participate actively in safety training. Understand interactions among systems in a landfill gas power plant. Maintain detailed knowledge of gaseous fueled reciprocating engines, specifically Caterpillar G3520C and G3516A. Perform major repairs, tune-ups, rebuilds, and overhauls on engines and equipment. Rebuild plant equipment both on and offline. Weld, fabricate, and machine parts for engine rebuilds and overhauls. Maintain inventory of tools, parts, fluids, and supplies. Draw schematics and describe system operations. Provide onsite support for major maintenance and operational needs as required. Rebuild high-volume power plant components and advanced components like vacuum pumps, gas blowers, and heat exchangers. Assist other facilities as directed. Complete company and regulatory training. Overtime may be required; some travel may be necessary. Essential education HS Diploma required Essential experience Experience in plant operations and maintenance. Experience with precision machining equipment. Strong commitment to safety and safety culture. Basic knowledge of hand tools. Basic mechanical and electrical training or experience. Ability to understand and operate power plant equipment. Ability to read and understand manuals. Work hours are Mon.-Thur. 6am-4:30pm, subject to change. Overtime and travel may be required.
