As a Counselor, you will oversee all aspects of a patient’s treatment, including coordination and continuity of care from admission through discharge and follow-up. You will promote performance improvement and service delivery by providing psychological therapy aimed at addressing the causes and effects of addiction through substance abuse counseling, including family and group therapy. Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work from an accredited institution, as required by state law. Three (3) years’ experience in substance use, mental health, or related field. Licensure or certification as required by state law: 12VAC30—130-5020, LCSW, LPC, LMFT.
Responsibilities:
Participate in clinical decision-making meetings. Assess counseling needs and substance abuse diagnosis using DSM criteria. Review relevant patient records. Develop and implement treatment plans, including discharge and continuum of care plans. Document all services and assessments thoroughly. Manage caseload and coordinate support services. Facilitate family therapy and crisis interventions as needed. Coordinate with referral sources and participate in team meetings. Complete required training and other duties as assigned.
