About the role RS Recovery are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our team based from our Tipton Head Office. Applicants will be given full training and will be required to work as part of an on-call rota. Shift: Late shift Your role will include but won’t be limited to the following: Attend recoveries for a variety of customers in a safe and timely manner, recoveries may be local or national for vehicles that cannot be repaired at roadside Self-manage jobs via PDA from allocation through to completion Carry out daily checks and maintain trucks to a high standard Support West Midlands Police and Highways England contracts Accurately document job details and maintain appropriate records in accordance with company procedures
What you need to succeed This is a varied role in a fast-paced industry, therefore the following skills and attributes are required: Previous recovery experience desired but not essential, training can be provided for the right candidate A full valid driving license Minimum Category C+E driving license and valid DCPC ADR and IVR preferred but not essential Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise directly with customers and control Basic mechanical knowledge, further training can be provided for the right candidate Good geographical knowledge A flexible approach to meet the needs of the business The ability to work alone and use initiative to solve problems in high-pressure situations Vetting Approval required to support West Midlands Police operations where applicable Capable of working in all weather conditions
