The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a Driver to join the team at Woodward Resource Center (WRC) in our Food Service Department for a fulfilling career with purpose. The Driver position works an eight-hour shift, five days a week, between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m., which includes weekend rotations. Possession of a valid Iowa Driver’s License is required. Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position. What you’ll do As part of the WRC team, you'll play a crucial role in our mission by providing essential food service support to individuals at our facility. Key Responsibilities Include:
Pack, load, and deliver food to 11 houses five times daily (breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, mid-afternoon, and supper). Pick up, load, and return dirty meal service items to the Campus Food Service Department twice daily. Perform a variety of tasks for food service operation including (but not limited to) packing food, stocking food and supplies onto shelves and into coolers and freezers, pick-up and delivery of department mail, orders, dirty and clean laundry, and other communication, removing snow from department ramps and steps, assisting with serving at meal time, pick up of special order items from Perry, filling department trucks with gas, and assisting with washing and storing pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and utensils. Complete daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning assignments, including trash removal, general sanitation, sweeping, and mopping. Train and direct the work of assigned people including co-workers, individuals living at the Woodward Resource Center, and students of Woodward Academy.
Key Competencies Successful candidates for this position will demonstrate the following competencies: Daily safe driving of facility trucks, as well as loading and delivery procedures. Knowledge of health hazards in food service and the necessary precautionary measures. Demonstrate correct care and use of food service utensils and equipment. The ability to perform and complete a variety of manual food service tasks according to WRC processes. Commitment to quality service standards.
