Apply today! POSITION STATEMENT: The Maintenance Technician will participate in the maintenance and repair of the building, grounds, and production equipment in all our facilities. In the completion of these responsibilities, the Machine Maintenance Technician will be flexible and support the operations and maintenance team as needed to accomplish these responsibilities, demonstrating Wieland Designs' standards of quality. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative and Business Skills:
The ability to participate in contacting vendors to acquire materials and supplies for department, monitoring, and stocking sufficient inventory. Assist with a breakdown of costs relating to the maintenance and repair of each asset, consult with the supervisor when maintenance and repair costs exceed replacement costs. Participate in building security. Participate in creating a safe work environment that meets OSHA regulations. Help to investigate and respond to non-conformances assisting in root cause determination as needed. Assisting in continuous improvement activities that support our operations.
Technical Skills:
Repair and service computer controlled sewing equipment, CNC based material cutting equipment and PLC controlled automated equipment. Machine maintenance experience with strong mechanical aptitude to learn, participate in diagnosing and repairing a variety of machinery and production-based equipment. Experience with typical maintenance skills sets including, electrical, welding, construction, mechanical, plumbing, and fabrication skills. Experience with HVAC systems maintenance and repair. Troubleshooting and diagnosis problems skill set. Have or learn a general understanding of Lean principles and eliminate waste from maintenance and production processes. Participate in providing general services and facility maintenance to all Wieland Design's facilities as needed. Assist in recommending improvements for the building and equipment, executing preventive maintenance plans.
Interpersonal Skills:
Administering company policies for the department. Participate in building and facility improvement plans with supervisor. Participate as needed with external parties such as architects and other contractors in planning resources to execute their plans. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Have positive interactions with all team members as you carry out your duties and responsibilities. Be self-directed and able to work effectively, efficiently and independently in carrying out your maintenance responsibilities.
Physical demands and work environment:
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, bend, and squat at a workstation. Duties require the ability to operate small air power tools and lift 8-25 pounds consistently and 40-100 pounds occasionally during an 8-9 hour working period. Must be able to operate computers, copy machines, phones and other standard office equipment. Regular attendance. Mental Demands: Must be able to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively; active listening skills. Ability to solve practical problems; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Work Environment: Normal Maintenance department work environment with some noise and airborne dust particles or high consistent noise levels. High school education and/or some general business and technical courses. Knowledge of current manufacturing systems and maintenance schedules. Supervisory and management skills. Willingness to attend formal training as is necessary to improve skills and abilities. Computer literacy in word processing, excel type spreadsheets. 4 years of experience as a machine maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
