Effectively present information and respond to questions to groups or individuals while providing outstanding hospitality. Learn and maintain a demonstrated understanding of Commercial Lines insurance, company products, pricing, and coverages in all states where Central does business. Develop, demonstrate, and apply knowledge of the Commercial Lines policy system as well as other related and supporting systems. Utilize the policy system and other related supporting systems to make sound decisions. Independently screen, quote, and process new submissions, issues, renewals, and endorsements for policies. Coordinate documentation for underwriting files. Communicate and coordinate any necessary follow-up with Underwriters. Train underwriters, agents, marketing representatives, and other stakeholders on the Commercial Lines system. Work pro-actively with underwriter(s) in support of our new and renewal client base. Conduct workshops for the Commercial Lines department, marketing, agents, underwriters, and other customers. Create and maintain strong relationships through collaboration with agents, Underwriters, Marketing, and other stakeholders. Work with the Commercial Lines Underwriting team to collect information, perform data entry, analyze risk factors, and more to meet policy needs. Research and respond to customer needs. Provide the highest level of accuracy and support to the underwriter(s) throughout the new business lifecycle and ongoing renewal account maintenance. Perform initial review, triage, and processing of small new business and renewal submissions. Perform specialized rating functions as they relate to assigned product line. Respond to verbal or written inquiries via underwriters by agents within the department's customer service standards. Perform the initial renewal review within department authority and make recommendations when sending to the underwriter. Order reports as requested by underwriters, complete general duties, and review various reports within department authority. Analyze rating sequences to determine if premiums are being calculated correctly. Review endorsements to ensure compliance with our underwriting guidelines. Assist with testing initiatives. Use Commercial Lines knowledge to train others.
What You’ll Bring
1 year of experience in customer service. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills when working with agents and internal customers, including Marketing and Underwriting. Adaptable to change. Demonstrate strong time management skills to effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet required deadlines. Average data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively and professionally using proper grammar both orally and in writing. Strong analytical, comprehension, and mathematical skills. Conflict resolution and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail. Prioritize multiple tasks to meet required deadlines and work independently. Exercise initiative and judgment while researching and responding to customer inquiries. Build rapport with each customer, both internal and external, by actively listening and assertively responding to their needs with a proactive mindset. Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style. Develop and maintain effective written and verbal communication skills for inter-office communication as well as with the external agency force. Exercise confidence, initiative, and judgment while researching and responding to customer inquiries. Maintain a thorough knowledge of ISO and underwriting rules, rating, and coverage forms. Possess an in-depth knowledge of department workflow and procedures. Ability to understand Central Insurance’s policies and processes.
Preferred
Property & Casualty Insurance License. Insurance-related designation.
