Legal Assistant The Legal Assistant will support the legal department in managing the company's legal and administrative needs, including those of its business units and subsidiaries. Key Responsibilities include:
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts. Analyze contract terms to identify potential risks or compliance issues. Conduct research on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment on contract terms and conditions and company policies. Manage contract closing process, including final assembly of contract, execution, delivery and preservation. Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of a contract lifecycle management platform, including document profiling, storage, tracking, and renewals. Monitor the legal task queue to ensure efficient delivery of internal legal services. Assist with corporate governance matters, including drafting, monitoring and maintaining corporate records. Assist with acquisitions and financing transactions, including compiling and reviewing due diligence, maintaining closing checklists and calendars, drafting and reviewing documents. Assist with subpoena review, response and production. Schedule meetings, coordinate with external counsel, and prepare reports. Draft correspondence and prepare summaries or presentations on legal issues. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.
Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification required. 4+ years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a related role. Experience in contract management preferred. Strong understanding of contract law, compliance, and risk mitigation principles. Ability to articulate complex issues and discuss solutions clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Quick learning, versatile, and hard-working, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, in a high volume, fast paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software (preferred). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and build strong connections across the organization.
