Project Manager (Heavy Civil Construction)
Job Description
The Project Manager (PM) oversees all aspects of the various civil engineering jobs awarded to the company as assigned. This position reports to the Field Division Manager and works closely with Superintendents and Foreman to ensure the project’s success. The PM is responsible and accountable for taking the lead on the project team and project strategy including; safety, quality, innovation, and production. Working directly with the Superintendent, the Project Manager is responsible for the project to be completed on time and on budget. At all times, the PM should stand as a representative for Condie Construction and provide the team with necessary feedback and tools to succeed. The PM is responsible for production rates, performance, and all reports, invoices, and other paperwork necessary as the job progresses. Any complaints or kudos from residents, sub-contractors, inspectors, or other people involved in the project should go through the PM and should be handled with respect and courtesy. The PM adheres to and encourages all employees to follow the company’s established Safety policies and procedures on the job site. Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for overall planning, management, and execution of jobs/projects Reports to and coordinates with the Field Division Manager regarding equipment, tools, manpower, and materials needed to complete the job Monitors sub-contractors and suppliers and ensures that all work and materials are within contract specifications Responsible for sub-contract coordination, contract administration, submittals, creation, and revision of work plans, field verification of quantities and work performed May be assigned one or more projects at a time Maximizes project profitability and promotes company objectives and goals Meets quality and safety standards as well as meeting owner objectives Assesses and responds to customer needs and cultivates long-lasting customer relationships through proactive interaction Fosters fundamentals of Company business philosophies Assists in the training, developing, and directing the work of the project team members Receives daily production reports from the Superintendent and verifies they are correct Updates and monitors the budget and schedule of the project and provides feedback to the Superintendent to strategize for the success of the project Attends necessary management meetings and reports project progress to administration Acts as an innovative and inspiring leader for their project Qualifications Must have valid state driver’s license or government issued ID Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. with appropriate documentation (E-Verify) Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training Experience working in the construction industry, preferably wet utilities and heavy civil Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions Ability to be an effective leader, detail-oriented, and a self-starter Must be highly qualified to manage multi-million-dollar jobs Additional Information Qualifying employees are eligible for the following benefits: Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Dental Medical Voluntary Vision Life Long Term Disability (LTD) Short Term Disability (STD) Voluntary Accident Worker’s Compensation Insurance 401(k) and Roth with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Weekly Pay #J-18808-Ljbffr
