Job Description The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for checking out patients, collecting outstanding balances, reviewing the schedule, making appointments, and answering phones and calling insurance companies. Additional tasks may include reviewing treatment plans and serving as a backup to other front office positions. Responsibilities Answering phone calls, creating appointments for new and existing patients Collecting all monies due for services rendered Calling insurance companies for benefit breakdowns and entering info into Practice Management Software Reviewing and updating patient statuses in Open Dental Reviewing upcoming schedules for accuracy Determining dental benefit eligibility and payment estimates Confirming appointments not confirmed through Flex software Requesting updated Pano x-rays from doctors Creating and electronically sending dental claims daily Communicating with patients verbally and via email Overseeing appointment schedule for efficiency Collaborating with clinical team for patient management Presenting treatment plans when necessary Responding to concerns and inquiries from doctors, patients, and staff Performing general office duties and other tasks as needed Qualifications Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in an administrative, front office, or patient advocacy role, preferably in a dental or medical setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Practice Management Software (like Open Dental), and the ability to learn new programs is required. Candidates must be well-organized, able to prioritize, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality. Ability to work independently and in a team is essential. Other Information The Scheduling Coordinator is expected to work all hours of pediatric dental care and non-patient care days as scheduled.
