Job Description
Job Title: Midcoast Children’s Advocacy Center (MCAC) Family Advocate Job Status: Regular, Full Time (40 hours/week) ($22.66/hr; Estimated Annual Salary $47,132.80 plus benefits) Job Location: Based in Rockland and/or Searsport, with possible backup support in Boothbay Harbor Primary Responsibility: Provide advocacy & referrals to families and children who come to the MCAC following concerns of child sexual abuse in Knox and Waldo Counties, and in Eastern Cumberland/Lincoln/Sagadahoc (ECLS) County as needed/available. Representative Family Advocacy Duties:
Serve as the first point of contact for the non-offending care provider(s) to greet and establish rapport with the child victims and non-offending care provider within the MCAC setting and prior to them coming to the MCAC Serve as the liaison between non-offending care provider(s) and MDT partners only for the purposes of a MCAC referral with an exchange of limited information (led by the minimum information on the intake forms) for the purposes of referral services only Provide support for children and non-offending care provider(s) during interview process in addition to assisting non-offending care provider(s) with referrals to multi-disciplinary partner agencies Ensure the Family Room is appropriately ready to accommodate any special considerations that may need to be made for children or non-offending care providers Document all client and non-offending care provider(s) referral information into EmpowerDB according to the MCAC requirements, as well as maintain accurate and current files and records Conduct seven-day and thirty-day follow-up calls with all assisted clients at the MCAC Serve as the liaison to any referral partners should it be requested by the caregiver Ensure the Caregiver Follow Up Survey (OMA) is offered at every 30-day call Ensure that OMS survey has been offered to 100% of all families who come to the MCAC and has been entered into the OMS Dashboard by the end of each month Attend regularly scheduled group clinical supervision with the SASSMM team and program supervision with the MCAC Program Coordinator Work in collaboration with the MCAC Family Advocate for EC/LS to coordinate client coverage and services

Complete SASSMM 47 hours Advocate Training Co-facilitate support groups, as needed Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work/life experience Awareness of and sensitivity to issues of sexual victimization of children and adults Experience in crisis and/or other human or advocacy services Understanding of the needs and challenges specific to supporting victims within rural communities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently Have access to transportation Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to changing priorities Excellent computer literacy, organizational, facilitation, and oral and written communication skills
Accountability: Accountable to the MCAC Program Coordinator for all CAC programming. Accountable to the Executive Director regarding all agency programming and operations.
