Job Description
Position Summary:
Nomaco, Inc., a leading manufacturer of engineered foam products, has an opening for a Technical Sales Manager within our Construction Products group (concrete and building envelop Joint Fillers and sealant Backer Rods). This individual will be responsible for increasing specification inclusions of our brands with architectural and engineering (A&E) firms nationwide. Key priorities include qualifying and identifying key contacts within the A&E community for ongoing approval and specification of our products on their construction projects, and proactively targeting large projects for Nomaco product approval or substitution requests through our Construct Connect project tracking system. The position is a home-based opportunity, with periodic on-site training, company meetings and corporate functions. Up to 33% travel is required for direct face-to-face sales and customer support activities as needed. The Technical Sales Manager reports to the Vice President of Sales Core Business. Job Responsibilities
Identify and qualify key contacts with A&E/ Design-Build Firms, City/County/State Agencies, State DOTs and national corporations for ongoing sales and marketing activities. Provide product information via phone, email, face-to-face or virtual presentations to qualified contacts and entities. Through telemarketing, email marketing, and direct face-to-face sales efforts, facilitate the inclusion of all Nomaco products in both Project Specification and ongoing Master Specification documents prior to or during the project design stage. Through our Construct Connect project tracking system, facilitate substitution requests, and applicable submittals for active projects where Nomaco products are not currently listed or allowed. Through our Construct Connect project tracking system, provide lead information to our distribution partners and the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) where Nomaco products have been specified. Provide regular product knowledge training events at our distribution partners facilities. Maintain ACCOUNT details, CONTACT information, and ACTIVITIES on Salesforce.com. Assist with technical bulletins, guidelines and specifications, and technical sales presentations to support outside sales and customer service efforts as needed. Exhibit or attend key Tradeshows/Expositions/Conferences as required. Assist the RSMs and Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs) with response to technical questions or inquiries driven by customers or end users. Make regular American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education presentations (for professional development credit) to key A&E firms featuring Nomaco products. Represent Nomaco at major trade shows, regional exhibitions, and key distribution partner events. Participate in periodic sales planning, budgetary meetings, or training activities at Nomacos headquarters in Zebulon, NC, or off-site locations within other territories or via virtual meetings. Participate in periodic team sales blitz events in priority markets to drive product demand in a target market.
Job Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred, or equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum 5 years sales experience in a construction related market. Experience in concrete flatwork construction, commercial building waterproofing or DOT construction markets are a plus, but not required. Experience with the construction specification process is required. Excellent phone and verbal communication skills. Proficient use of personal computer utilizing software such as Microsoft Teams, Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Construct Connect and Saleforce.com. Exhibits a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency. Ability to travel up to 33% of the time nationwide and work flexible hours as the business dictates.
