Job Overview: A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Senior Patent Litigation Associate or Counsel with 7-10 years of experience to join its Intellectual Property practice group. This position offers the opportunity to handle complex patent litigation matters, particularly those related to computer, software, wireless devices, and medical device technologies. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, including managing inter partes reviews (IPRs) from start to finish. A USPTO registration is required, along with a strong academic background, excellent writing and research skills, and the ability to foster relationships with clients and colleagues in a team-oriented environment. Duties:
Lead and manage patent litigation cases involving complex technologies such as computer software, wireless devices, and medical devices. Manage and oversee inter partes reviews (IPRs) and other Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings. Draft and file motions, pleadings, and discovery requests related to patent litigation. Provide strategic legal counsel on patent litigation matters to clients. Mentor and supervise junior associates and legal staff in case management and strategy. Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and manage litigation. Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trial proceedings. Foster and maintain strong client relationships, providing regular case updates and legal advice.
Requirements:
7-10 years of experience in patent litigation, including substantial experience with PTAB and IPR proceedings. Proven experience handling litigation involving computer, software, wireless device, or medical device technologies. USPTO registration is required. Strong academic credentials. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters and IPRs. Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the Bar in the relevant state(s). USPTO registration required.
