Mid-level Patent Litigation Associate
Job Description
Job Overview: A well-established law firm is looking for a Mid-Level Patent Litigation Associate with 3-6 years of experience to join its Intellectual Property practice group. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in patent litigation, including research, drafting discovery responses, requests, and motions. A technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering is highly preferred. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate strong academic credentials and the ability to develop meaningful client and peer relationships in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Location: Columbus Duties:
Conduct legal research and provide analysis on patent litigation matters. Draft and respond to discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents. Prepare and file documentation for patent litigation cases. Work closely with senior attorneys to develop and implement litigation strategies. Maintain regular communication with clients, offering legal advice and case updates. Support pre-trial and trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and witnesses. Handle day-to-day management of patent litigation cases.
Requirements:
3-6 years of experience in patent litigation. Strong understanding of patent law and litigation practices. Proven experience in drafting legal documents such as discovery requests, motions, and responses. Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the Bar in the relevant state(s).
Skills:
Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering (preferred). Expertise in patent litigation and intellectual property law. Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to think strategically and apply legal principles effectively. Ability to collaborate within a team environment and with clients.
