Summary Obstetricians and Gynecologists are specialized doctors who diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases of women, especially those affecting the reproductive system and the process of childbirth. Like general practitioners, OB – GYNs are concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of general health problems, but they focus on ailments specific to the female anatomy, such as breast and cervical cancer, urinary tract and pelvic disorders, and hormonal disorders. Obstetricians and Gynecologists also specialize in childbirth, treating and counseling women throughout their pregnancy, from giving prenatal diagnoses to delivery and postpartum care. Obstetricians and Gynecologists track the health of, and treat, both mother and fetus as the pregnancy progresses. Duties and Responsibilities Review patient’s medical history Update charts and patient information to show current findings and treatments Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results. Obstetricians and Gynecologists care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods. Obstetricians and Gynecologists prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury. LOCATION: Valley Stream, Long Island, New York COMPANY PROFILE: Having opened its first office more than 20 years ago, this organization is now the largest physician-led outpatient medical practice in the greater NYC metro area. In addition to robust primary care offerings, they also operate specialty service lines in cardiology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, allergy and immunology, dermatology, and more. Their large staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are supported by dedicated team members, utilizing resources such as on-site laboratory services. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position will provide full scope outpatient GYN services including, but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care, and health maintenance. Specific duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

Review patient histories and perform physical examinations Conduct physical evaluations and diagnostic tests to determine diagnoses Evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for common diseases of the female anatomy Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans Provide patient-centered care incorporating psychosocial and physical needs Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings as needed

The physician will also perform in-office surgical procedures to include, but not be limited to:

Cervical Endometrial Vaginal Vulvar Colposcopy IUD placement LEEP Hysteroscopy A variable number of patients per day are seen, based upon provider preference for patient volume and types of appointments scheduled. All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants. The practice utilizes the Epic EHR. This position has no weekends, no evenings, and no on-call, providing excellent work/life balance. REQUIREMENTS:

New York medical license DEA Board Certification, Gynecology 2+ years practice experience
