Job Description

Overview

Position Title: Chief Philanthropy Officer . The Chief Philanthropy Officer plays a vital role in driving the organization’s fundraising efforts by cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals and wealth managers. This position is essential for expanding donor connections and enhancing assets through strategic estate planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to donor engagement and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. This role also involves leading a team and shaping the future of philanthropy within the organization while fostering a collaborative culture. Candidates should be prepared to navigate challenges and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities

Engage with wealth managers and high-net-worth donors to cultivate new relationships
Drive fundraising efforts to secure significant donations, focusing on community endowment building
Maintain ongoing communication with current donors to ensure satisfaction and continued support
Oversee the hiring of key team members, including a Donor Relations Officer and a Constituent Records Manager
Collaborate with the board of directors to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals
Adapt to a hybrid work style, balancing in-office learning with fieldwork to build community connections

Requirements

5-10+ years of experience in fundraising or philanthropic roles, with established connections in sales or wealth management
Proven track record of securing significant contributions from high-net-worth individuals
Familiarity with CRM systems and their effective utilization
Bachelor's degree is preferred
Experience in nonprofit or philanthropy sectors is preferred
Success in major gifts fundraising, planned giving, or donor relationship management within a community foundation, higher education, or complex nonprofit environment is preferred
