Data Center Operations Manager, DCO Manager

Responsibilities

Operationally responsible for a data center.
Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.
Manage performance of a diverse team of data center operation professionals across different locations.
Develop career paths and update them in internal tools.
Recruit and train technicians to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Oversee day‑to‑day operations including queue management, 24/7 shift arrangement, and hardware logistics.
Act as the subject‑matter expert across all aspects of data center operations.
Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are measured and met.
Inspire and guide improvement in team processes, technology innovation and automation.
Lead large‑scale events (outages) and coordinate the on‑call schedule.
Document and enforce policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
Maintain the on‑call schedule and coordinate absences and vacations.
Continuously strive to improve customer experience.

Essential Requirements

Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed; work at alternative sites during training or until assigned facility is operational.
Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.

Basic Qualifications

4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
2+ years of people‑management experience.
2+ years of operations and on‑call support for data center or mission‑critical facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing.
Experience in technical writing in a relevant field.
Certification in an applicable field such as A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, CND, Network+ or Security+.
Experience with system‑management tools and client/server environments.
