Job Description
Staff Pharmacist Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Independent onsite Retail Specialty Pharmacy part of a Medical Clinic Reading, PA

Primary Role: • Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge. • This position will be responsible for directly managing 5-6 employees under the supervision of a Pharmacy Manager.
Required Education & Skills: • Active PharmD licensure to practice in PA • Ability to provide professional advice on medications dispensed and sold over the counter • Ability to provide effective medication use and become the people’s trusted ally against health issues
Experience: • 2 years related pharmacy experience • Experience with the utilization of Patient Management System in the Pharmacy • 340B experience preferred
Essential Job Functions: • Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality • Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster • Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration • Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice. • Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient • Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed • Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing • Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures • Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated • Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies • Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues. • Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations. • Other duties as necessary
