Project Manager/Business Development for Floor Coating/Fireproofing Installations
Job Description
We are a rapidly growing, safety conscious commercial painting and coatings company that has been in business for over 30 years. We are seeking a reliable, strong FULL-TIME Experienced Project Manager for Floor Coatings/Fireproofing projects. Looking for a person with at least 10 years’ experience working with commercial/industrial coatings. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising people, be able to talk to General Contractor, solve problems, concrete floor restoration, concrete repair and refinishing, epoxy coatings/membrane installations, and cementitious applications, etc. (Hourly pay will depend on experience.) Looking to include business development into the position and that would need you to be able to engage, maintain and build relationships with our clients & prospects, and to generate & manage these types of projects.
This position involves managing, promoting, and selling the company’s fireproofing & concrete coating needs for our clients and our prospects. It involves a great deal of written and verbal communication, project management, as well as the use of math to prepare estimates.

Projects range in size from 1 week to 1 Year
Locations vary throughout Chicago and the Surrounding Suburbs plus Southern Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana
Required:
Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of insurance
Proof of citizenship or ability to work in the U.S. (This employer participates in E-Verify.)
Must be available whenever projects are ongoing (potential nights & weekends)
Must be a hard worker and team player with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
Duties and responsibilities:
Manage these types of projects including scheduling & material orders Ensure proper installation & quality control Performing a Project Pre-Con meeting with operations team Determining client’s needs and finding solutions. Working with vendors to determine the coating specification, equipment requirements and costs. Timely response to requests for service from clients and prospects. Go to walk thoughts for projects to estimate for these scopes Active selling, follow-up and establishing ongoing customer relationships. Help with business development Reviewing of any plans, specifications for estimate. Preparing and presenting proposals. Follow up and discussions with customers to create best value and secure the work. Creating project work order and project file. Project closeout and follow-up with client. Assuring a positive client relationship and experience.
Skills:
Installation experience is a must (10 years preferred) and experience in estimating of these industries would be helpful, but a culture fit with the company is more important. We can train the right person if they have aptitude for this type of work. This job requires good organizational skills, math skills, ability to use a CRM, close attention to detail and basic to intermediate to knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office Suites (Word, Outlook, Excel). Good communications skills and the ability to work independently is important to be successful in this position. Pay:
Hourly Rate $25-$35/hour - varies by experience
