Overview Construction & Logistics Support Specialist (CLSS) - Job Description
Construction & Logistics Support Specialist will support the construction department, helping to manage sourcing, purchasing, order fulfillment, inventory and maintenance of tools and materials for the construction department. This is primarily an office/shop position with occasional travel to support field operations. CLSS will report directly to The Construction Foreman and Director of Design and Manufacturing. Position Location: Dyer, Indiana, with some travel to support field projects and some flexibility for remote work when appropriate.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities Ability to use SketchUp/Layout/CAD
Ability to read blueprints
Document review and feedback
Sourcing and obtaining bids, securing contract(s) for selected bidder
Assist with project mobilization and demobilization
Work with others to maintain schedule of upcoming projects
Set up and monitor Slack channels for projects
Consistent follow up with key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are completed
Model and support OSHA 10 guidelines in shop and job sites
Material acquisition and price shopping
Order heavy equipment and machines for job sites
Manage vehicle maintenance
Manage development and maintenance of related forms
Assist in material prep and pre-construction shop fabrication
Assist with shop organization and cleanliness
Support crew in the field
Ensure commissioning inspections are completed
Book accommodations and travel for projects
Coordinate mobilization to job sites (tool and vehicle transportation)
Coordinate with Training Department to schedule trainers for completed builds
Coordinate with Inspection Department to schedule acceptance inspections when necessary
Arrange 3rd party acceptance inspections when necessary
Follow up with client post construction
Other logistical support as needed by the company
Construction is a very mentally and physically demanding job. Team Members should be able to:
Carry 80 lb bag of concrete over difficult terrain
Lift/move lumber up to 16’+ long with or without assistance
Be comfortable working at height
Hang from rope in harness for completing some tasks
Work 8-10 hour days, 6+ days consecutively when working on a project site
Work in adverse weather conditions when on a project site
Walk, stand, climb, kneel in any combination throughout the entire workday
Work in cramped/tight spaces when on a project site
Take initiative in problem solving
Communicate physical and mental needs without being asked
Share housing with other crew members and sometimes share hotel rooms when on a project site
Travel when required to support field operations
Education and Experience Qualification or experience in construction or construction management
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of construction and maintenance
Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
Direct work experience in construction or related field
Experience in people management
Experience in strategic planning
Knowledge and experience in risk management
Pay Range Overtime available during certain times of the year and for certain projects
Paid round trip travel to job sites including hourly rate, mileage, flights, lodging, and meals based on company parameters listed in the employee manual.
