Salary: $82,400 - $97,850

Role summary If you are interested in a hands-on, continuous improvement-oriented, fast-paced role in a world-class manufacturing environment then our Brewery Area Manager role is for you. On the Brewing side you would own the budget and performance of a brewing process as well as create and execute action plans to meet critical metrics in our fast-paced environment. On the Packaging side you would develop, monitor, and maintain production plans, warehouse, and material inventories, and production and shipping schedules to ensure excellent process performance and product quality while managing highly automated, complex processes in a fast-paced environment. In either role, this is a chance to be on the production floor, troubleshooting and problem solving on the fly to ensure we meet our production goals. This is a chance to develop as a leader, change agent, and Engineer.
Job responsibilities Front-line manager role supervising a team of unionized employees in a 24/7 production facility to optimize production efficiency
Learn brewing and packaging processes through hands-on training
Develop, monitor, and maintain production plans, inventories, and schedules to ensure excellent process performance and product quality
Plan, direct, and manage packaging activities to achieve key performance indicators
Identify areas to improve operations to meet or exceed KPIs
Manage manpower planning and training/coaching for the department
Ensure daily production efficiencies, quality expectations, and schedule attainment
Execute health and safety programs and enforce safety and quality standards
Manage department financials and inventories and track via SAP
Develop department resources through training, feedback, and performance appraisals; coordinate with internal/external customers
Create and implement tools and processes to improve quality, safety, and efficiency
Ensure supply of beer with correct volume, brand, on time and within quality specs
Use Management System tools to achieve metric targets and close gaps (root cause analysis, PDCA cycles, etc.)
Oversee preventative maintenance in area of responsibility
Ensure SOPs are followed
Develop the team through upskilling and on-the-job experiences
Lead and coach teams in problem solving and monitoring key processes and equipment using lean and six sigma methodologies
Promote safe working practices
Comply with labor contracts; manage relations with the union where appropriate including discipline and grievances
Manage highly automated, complex processes in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
Collaborate with senior leaders to drive process improvements and change initiatives
Job qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in engineering, supply chain management, science, or related field strongly preferred
1-3 years experience as a supervisor in a unionized production department preferred
Willingness to work any shifts (days, afternoons, midnights) and some weekends based on production or maintenance needs
Strong leadership, with ability to lead by example
Comfort with change and strong influencing skills
Experience with continuous improvement tools and processes preferred
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation
Technical problem-solving abilities
Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent verbal and written English communication
