Botetourt Veterinary Hospital, a small animal general practice in Troutville, VA, is looking to fill a newly created role: Hospital Assistant.
Responsibilities As a hospital assistant you will rotate through the different roles of the clinic – customer service representative, veterinary assistant, surgical assistant, and kennel technician. You will be responsible for:
Ensuring medical records are kept up to date.
Invoicing clients.
Clerical work and general office duties.
Answering phones, emails, and texts.
Obtaining medical history and vitals.
Assisting doctors and veterinary technicians by restraining patients as needed.
Filling doctor-prescribed medications.
Running lab samples in the clinic.
Taking care of boarders.
Holding for veterinary technicians to sedate surgical patients.
Cleaning up after surgery, sterilizing instruments, and wrapping packs.
