Junior Olympic Volleyball Coaches
Job Summary
Provide coaching and instruction to youth volleyball players (openings to coach Grades 4 - 8) in a competitive athletic program. Season starts late November and runs through March 17. The season includes skill development and competition. Practices are held 2/week on Mondays/Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings.. Schedules and times are based on gym and coach availability. 5-6 one day tournaments are scheduled per team on Saturdays or Sundays, January - mid-March. Coaches are required to attend.
Work collaboratively with the Youth Sports Coordinator to implement a coaching philosophy that is supportive of student/athletes' development. Communicate effectively with student/athletes, coaching staff, parents, and building administrators, regarding program needs and developments.
Qualifications
Understanding of fundamental skills and strategies. Effective practice management skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience in collaboration with others. Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents. Commitment to supporting the whole student/athlete in athletic competition, academics, and in character development.
