Ability to work in the office for the probationary period and then work a hybrid model (50% in office and 50% remote). Job Responsibilities Provide pharmacy services and expertise to the Office of HIV, public health programs and partners in a cost-effective, clinically responsible manner. Establishes up to date clinical pharmacy practice, provides current drug and disease information, assures full regulatory compliance and provides for all aspects of budgeting and purchasing including reporting, forecasting, and accounting processes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide pharmaceutical expertise to address population and evidence-based programs using epidemiologic and pharmacoeconomic data, medication use standards, utilization review and risk reduction evaluations. Serve as a pharmacist for the Office of HIV/AIDS ADAP Program Supervise staff responsible for ADAP programmatic activities.

Assure compliance with O.C.G.A. §31-8-304 "Donated Drug Repository Program" by managing participant eligibility. Serve as pharmacist of record required by O.C.G.A. §43-34-23(4). Assure compliance with all pharmacy laws, rules and regulations and communicate requirements to state, district and local staff. Participate in Emergency Preparedness and Response by evaluating the probability and impact of pharmaceutical risk and pharmacists practice roles and assist with identifying solutions and communicating mitigation strategies by collaborating with the Board of Pharmacy, pharmacy community, local, state, and federal agencies, and other stakeholders. Identify and provide solutions to current and emerging drug shortages. Assist with the Office of HIV/AIDS ADAP Program Provide pharmaceutical procurement and contract compliance for Public Health programs. Provide training on pharmacology and drug pricing programs. Serve on state and national advisory councils for pharmaceutical portfolio development, emerging therapies, forecasts, and effective contract strategies. Provide drug information to all clinic staff statewide. Develop and/or review drug formularies for appropriate, cost-effective drug therapy. Develop and/or review the drug treatment area of all Public Health nurse protocols.

Assist in the development of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Emergency Preparedness warehouse. Assist in the development of the Drug Dispensing Procedures and ensure that the districts have guidance on all drug related procedures. Assist in development of the SOPs for returning drugs for the districts. Maintain drug purchasing files for the Federal Drug Quality Security act according to the retention schedule. Responsible for updating the pharmacy portion of the Nurse Protocol Manual, HIV Manual, TB Manual and Emergency Operations Manual. Maintain and update the Drug Sample Policy for the districts. Responsible for grant reporting: Feminine Hygiene, HIV, TB, Nursing, EP, STD, Donated Drug Repository to GA Drugs and Narcotics, GA State Board Pharmacy. Provide data to the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP). Responsible for compliance information, share backs, credit rebuild, budgets, formulary changes, quantity,

Conduct a mandatory annual inventory for all districts and clinics. Responsible for quarterly business reviews with Cardinal to make sure contracts are in compliance.

Monitor the budget. Address Issues such as:

Payment issues Internal Contract Issues Drug account contracts Account set ups for districts and for the state for vendors Drug shortage Billing issues for pharmaceuticals at the districts 340B issues Opioid Drug program Training PH nurses Direct patients when there are office closures Assist with the Opioid and Substance Misuse Response Program Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) Expansion and Response (Grant Annex 663) and other related grants that are extended to the districts the Office of Pharmacy supports by answering programmatic questions internally and externally. Updating the Naloxone Guidance Document, updates the Naloxone Standing Order, assist districts with partnerships and methodologies to supply the community with naloxone for opioid overdoses, assist with creating and updating provider and pharmacy community information for distribution via the program such as, Opioid Toolkit. Assisting with the Hypertension and Diabetes grant annex that contains pharmacy deliverables that specifically has a pharmacy requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate or professional degree in pharmacology from an accredited college or university and current Georgia license to practice pharmacology and one (1) year of professional pharmacology experience or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Pharmacist 2 (HCP151) or position equivalent.
