POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant has a key role in ensuring that financial records meet established standards. This role will ensure manufacturing costs are appropriately controlled, and new items are costed appropriately. This role is responsible for generating product costings, setting up new items and BOM's, reporting of facility KPI's, and general ledger reconciliations. This role interfaces both with senior management and with the broader manufacturing organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly operations performance scorecards and KPI's. Review material variance daily to ensure data accuracy, process consumption corrections if necessary. Prepare cost standards for material, labor and plant overhead. Reconciles inventory (G/L to sub ledger) Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts. Ensure data integrity in the ERP systems and maintain item set-ups, BOM's, Routings and supporting data. Participate in month end and year end close activities. Assist in inventory reconciliations as assigned. Participate in year-end physical inventory. Generate detailed product costings for new items and review of existing items. Produce detailed, professional communications both to senior management and to peers. Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget. Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Broad understanding of all accounting functions Broad understanding of ingredients and management of perishables Broad understanding of manufacturing capabilities and constraints. Knowledgeable at interpreting BOM's, recipes and batching constraints Knowledge of Navision Dynamics or other ERP packages with a high degree of comfort handling data. Advanced excel skills required; must understand formula construction, pivot tables, data types. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical, verbal, or written form.
Able to deal with multiple variables and imperfect data sources.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Experience in food manufacturing preferred. Attention to Detail. Excellent oral and written communication.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Must be very skilled in Microsoft Office Application. Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Accounting, Finance, Operations Management, or related field. Entry level up to 5 yrs experience
